THE MECHANICALS meet for their first rehearsal!!!

South-East of Shakespeare and the Drama Institute are proud to offer a performance programme entitled :
                                  The Shakespeare Project.

South-East of Shakespeare is the classical performance arm of the Drama Institute and is dedicated to making classical theatre (particularly Shakespeare) accessible to young people of all ages.
Through a series of performance workshops (Nailing Shakespeare) and performance opportunities (Shakespeare's Classic Scenes) people can experience Shakespeare first-hand through both participation and observation.
The Shakespeare Project is a wonderful opportunity to discover the power, excitement and fun of Shakespeare in performance.
The programme opens with the Nailing Shakespeare workshops which lead into Shakespeare's Classic Scenes performance pieces; providing the students with the opportunity to explore and perform some of Shakespeare's most famous characters (Hamlet, Macbeth, Richard II, Lady Macbeth, Ophelia, Richard III and many others) without the burden of presenting the full plays. It is envisaged that this training and experience will provide the artistic and creative core for the South-East of Shakespeare theatre company which will then look ar mounting full productions of some of these plays.

The Drama Institute proudly presents:    "Nailing Shakespeare"
A course for actors serious about understanding and applying in PERFORMANCE the practices and principles that make Shakespeare work on stage. So if you are genuinely interested in really NAILING Shakespeare in performance call:

The HOMESCHOOL programme. The Drama Institute offers an ongoing drama training programme specifically designed for Homeschooled children and groups. Working through strategically developed and placed games, role plays and exercises the programme is designed to develop self-confidence, teamwork and emotional resilience in the participants while discouraging "showing-off" and unhealthy competitive behaviours.

The process we utilise is built around 4 basic principles:
Building the children's emotional resilience.
Creating an atmosphere of fun, camaraderie and teamwork.
Building trust, cooperation and, as much as possible, raising all the children up to a similar level of competence and confidence in the work.
Ensuring the safety of all participants at all times.

The FOURTH term's work is focused on presenting a live play performance (as pictured)
